Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 10:59PM I really DIDN'T want to have to address this but it's waaaayyy to drawn out now.
So for those that didn't know, Jazzy Jeff (Fresh Prince DJ of course), was in town with the B-Live Bacardi tour on Saturday night in Kansas City at a venue named KC Live in the KCP & L District downtown.
IN summary, it was a great show until the sound came to a screeching halt. The HALT is what is in debate from everyone from audience members of the night, to random holocaust/racism deniers. It's really insane. Jeff and Skillz say it was because they were playing hip hop, Cordish says it is because Jeff was ignoring sound warnings and blew out 9 out of 12 of their speakers? I'm just p/o 'ed:
A. Because I was there and I was cheated out of seeing a legend
B. Because an establishment that is already known for it's questionable tactics is in the light again
C. It makes Kansas City look petty and backwards
D. Folks are kicking dirt on a LEGEND (no debate) in the blogs and on radio
I have my views which most of you are already familar with, but if not I'll explain a lot in an upcoming NPR interview I did with Susan Wilson that will air 6/12. Until then enjoy the below antics that tell the story!

The 1st night of 1st Fridays in Kansas City on 3/6/09 was dope with a usually good turnout. Thanks to all the party people and innocent bystanders that got smashed with hip hop, funk, and soul.
Shout out and xtra thanks to Birdies lingerie shop on 116 18th St. for providing the Soul Providers with the space, power, and fire marshal handling support for the night.
Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 3:38PM Ok so now we are half way functional. Got all of our shows updated with the most recent shows. If you missed anything from last year, you have to check these out.
Skeme linked with Lenny D and birthed Broad Spectrum. The show is funky, so go check that out under Burnworthy.
We uploaded some photo's from the infamous Summer Time in the City 2007 Show. Check those out as well.
Listen, Look, Comment and let us know what you think.
